Work It Out Supported Employment


 


 


Work it out

The Council's Work it out programme is specifically geared towards helping young people with additional support needs into work and training. The scheme works by providing intensive one-to-one support for each young person on the scheme and gathering a complete picture of the young person that can be developed into a vocational profile. The aim is to help the young person make the right decision about what jobs or careers might be available to them and that they would enjoy

School/ College Links

Students can attend college from fourth year with courses available at either Motherwell or South Lanarkshire Colleges. Courses followed are dependent on ability and interests of each individual pupil.

Outdoor Resource Base

Where appropriate, some Sanderson pupils are given the opportunity to work with the Outdoor Resource Base. ORB can offer tailor made programmes which focus on developing pupil potential through outdoor based activities, team exercises and possibly residential experiences. RM (Research Machines)

Sanderson High work closely with RM who provide a managed service for all ICT equipment in the school. Close liaison and good relationships with RM help to ensure that the learning environment is enhanced with state-of-the-art ICT software and hardware.
